Custom Scrims

Our Custom Scrims are one of our best-selling products, and a constant favorite of discerning professionals worldwide. Scrims provide an extremely portable canvas for self-expression; whether in front of your backline, on top of the drum riser, or used in conjunction with our custom drumheads, backdrops, or grill cloth. Scrims are a staple of current musicians, and a great option for a wide variety of applications.

The real challenge we had when looking into creating the best Scrim available was portability and storage size. How do you take an 8' wall of fabric and collapse it to the smallest size possible, while somehow still having a stand that's strong enough to hold up under the harshest of conditions?

How do you print a Scrim that can withstand years and years of being on outdoor stages, combating the UV rays that are a death sentence to most inks? How do haul out an 8' wall of fabric while conforming to most venues' lightning-fast changeover? What about our clients that do mostly spot dates, and need to fly with their Scrims? How do check an 8' x 8' steel frame?

After years of beta-testing, many product revisions, and more busted scrims stands that I can count; we came out on the other side with a Custom Scrim that boasts the highest digital print quality, most durable materials, and most over-kill fabrication available. Combine that longevity with the strength and small closed stature of our Telescoping Anodized Black Steel Scrim Stands; and you've got something that will endure all the rigors of the road, flight, festival, and everything in between. All our fabric products are based around a new printing process we discovered called Impregnation; a process that actually impregnates the inks into the fibers of the fabric. Since the inks are impregnated into the fibers of the fabric, rather than sitting on top of the fabric, you maintain the original properties of the fabric, completely unaltered. On top of that, Impregnation Printing offers extremely brilliant colors, no digital limitations, total UV resistance, machine wash-ability, and inks that won't crack, fade, or peel - ever!

Combine this amazing printing process with our Heavy Canvas or Vinyl Mesh materials - and you have the most die-hard Scrims on the market. The Heavy Canvas is machine washable, iron safe, and folds down to the smallest size possible. The perfect solution for both touring bands and bands flying for spot dates; minimal storage space and easy setup. Our Vinyl Mesh is a plastic-based substrate, which needs to stay rolled in transport, and can crease if extreme pressure is applied. However, the Vinyl Mesh offers an 85% blow-through, creating the perfect solution to the outdoor touring circuit, or for the band using backlights and other various staging that you want to show through your Scrim.

Our Telescoping Anodized Black Steel Scrim Stands offer top-quality strength, durability, and longevity - along with the same small storage footprint. Starting at 3' x 3' and telescoping up to 8' x 8' (with an optional 12' x 12' extension kit) our Scrim Stands are the perfect fit for the smallest club, or the largest arena. Our Stands collapse in three height tiers vertically, with the horizontal poles unscrewing in the middle and each piece collapsing two tiers of height. The steel feet unscrew from the vertical base, and everything fits into one 3' x 6" x 6" Wheeled Carry Bag; small enough to fit under the bench seat in your van!

Why EC? The answer is pretty simple; this is all we do. Our passion, our pursuit, and our purpose is to design, invent, and fabricate the absolute best products for the creative and practical application of artwork on stage. We are a music industry exclusive company. Discerning professional musicians are our lifeblood, and our sole and only focus.

Your local print shop doesn't know what it's like to get to a venue and not have the proper Fire Cert to hang your backdrop: we do. Your sign shop doesn't understand the tone they're choking out of your drumhead with their screen printing: we do. Hardware stores don't know that the PVC pipe you're buying to build your own scrim stands will cost you $50-$150 to check it for a flight because it won't collapse small enough to be a carry-on: we do.

This is not a hobby, this is not a side project. This is an all-consuming passion that we want to share with every band and every artist making music today. We don't cut any corners, we don't make any excuses.

Top quality, no compromise; that's EC.
