EC Stage Art: Your Cab As A Canvas. That was our first tag line. Back in 2005, when we did our first Custom Stage Art product, it was a Custom Grill Cloth. And, our Custom Grill Cloth is still one of our flagship products today. Our origin as a company is rooted in this completely custom item, and our continued spirit of innovation is a direct result of initially taking on such a daunting project.
At the time, nothing like this existed on the market. Acknowledgment of that is what drove us to start the creation process. Figuring out how to apply a top-quality digital print onto a speaker cabinet, while still maintaining 100% of the cabinet's sonic integrity, was a tall order for an initial endeavor. Our first challenge turned out to be our greatest challenge, but the knowledge gained and technology discovered during that time has been applied to all of our products since.
From our Impregnation Printing process, to our Italian-imported 10:16 fabric, to the installation over your existing grill cloth - our Custom Grill Cloth offers 100% Sonic Transparency. That transparency allows you to keep the full, natural audio integrity of your cabinet completely unaltered. Read on the SPECS page to learn more.
Ordering is a pretty straight-forward process. Start by selecting your options from the drop down menu below. Please make sure to select an option for each drop down menu. If you don't need an item in a drop down menu, simply select –No Item–. In the comment box below, please specify the exact make and model of the cabinet/head our Custom Grill Cloth will be installed on. If you have any additional comments, questions, or specifics about the order, please include them there as well. You can also list anything pertaining to color changes, artwork modifications, due date, etc there. After your options are selected, you can add the product to your Cart, at which point you can either shop for more EC products, or proceed to checkout.
If you have artwork, you can upload it at this time using our Artwork Uploader. If we will be creating custom artwork for you, we will begin the creative process after the order is placed. You can always email us at info@ecstageart.com or call us at +1 (608) 519-0316 with any questions.
Once you proceed to checkout, you can enter your credit card information and the order will automatically be entered into production! One of our Customer Service Reps will be in touch with you immediately to confirm the artwork and any other specifics regarding the order. Custom Grill Cloth is currently on a 2 week turnaround, but keep in mind that we're a custom company - and that includes our turnaround times! If you need Custom Grill Cloth in less than 2 weeks, please communicate that. We'll do everything in our power to ensure we meet whatever due date you have.
Configure & Order
All our fabric products are based around a new printing process we discovered called Impregnation; a process that actually impregnates the inks into the fibers of the fabric. Since the inks are impregnated into the fibers of the fabric, rather than sitting on top of the fabric, you maintain the original properties of the fabric, completely unaltered. On top of that, Impregnation Printing offers extremely brilliant colors, no digital limitations, total UV resistance, machine washability, and inks that won't crack, fade, or peel - ever!
Combine this amazing printing process with an extremely unique Italian fabric that we call 10:16 Fabric. Matthew 10:16 (yep, scripture) says, "...be shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves", which is exactly what our 10:16 Fabric is! This fabric is tough enough to endure all the rigors that tour life can throw at it, all the while being delicate enough to allow sound to pass through completely uninhibited. When coupled with our Impregnation Printing, you get the most brilliant image available with complete sonic integrity.
We simply then install the Impregnation Printed 10:16 Fabric over your existing grill cloth. Which means there is nothing to remove from your baffle (aside from logos, if applicable) before installing our Custom Grill Cloth. Simply staple over your existing grill cloth, and you're all set! You can either send in your baffle and we'll install the Custom Grill Cloth, or we can ship it to you (for less than $10!) and you can install it yourself. Most bands that possess the wherewithal to change their own strings have no problem installing our Custom Grill Cloth. We will soon have tutorial videos to help you with the install as well.

Hardware stores don't know that the PVC pipe you're buying to build your own scrim stands will cost you $50-$150 to check it for a flight because it won't collapse small enough to be a carry-on: we do.
